My name is Jem, an award-winning food and product photographer, food stylist, and recipe developer based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, but available worldwide.
I specialize in helping mission-driven brands increase brand awareness and boost sales through scroll-stopping photos. I also work with homemade food and drinks, creating images that highlight the YUM factor, styled in a way that makes readers instantly crave the recipes.
My work has been featured in 30+ large international publications such as Forbes, MSN, Huffpost, and Chowhound, to name a few. I also won multiple awards, such as the Foodelia International Food Photography Award in 2025 and other photography competitions, resulting in me being in the top 2 food photographers in the Netherlands.
I have a highly academic background, having received various (full) scholarships to study abroad since I was 15 to Singapore, the US, and the Netherlands. I worked as a data scientist analyzing the performance of marketing campaigns for companies such as Walmart and Spotify, before deciding to move towards the other side and create assets for marketing campaigns through impactful photos and videos.
